Overview

The MH-3 is the smallest loudspeaker Lyngdorf makes — a two-way satellite in a sealed cabinet of just 0.8 litres, designed to pair with a BW subwoofer in systems where the speakers must all but disappear. This version comes in matte white with a grey Gabriel® fabric cover for bright, contemporary rooms.

Design & build

The tiny enclosure is a closed cabinet in full MDF — solid, inert and far heavier-feeling than its size implies. The matte white finish under Gabriel of Denmark’s grey weave (a textile house founded in 1851) reads as decor, not equipment, and the dedicated MH floor stand raises a pair to listening height where shelves don’t exist.

Sound & performance

Response runs 110Hz to 20,000Hz with 84dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m) into a nominal 4 ohms, and 80 watts power handling. Crossed to a BW-2 or BW-3 subwoofer, a set of MH-3s delivers a coherent, room-filling result that visitors will simply not believe came from cabinets this small.

Key features

A 1-inch textile soft-dome tweeter with PTC overload protection crosses at 2.7kHz to a 4-inch aluminium-cone midrange driver on a 25mm voice coil. As across the MH family, the drivers are mounted as close together as physically possible.

Technology

That close coupling makes the MH-3 behave almost as an ideal point source — the foundation of its precise, holographic imaging. Partnered with a Lyngdorf amplifier running RoomPerfect™, satellite and subwoofer are corrected as one system, tailored to the room.
