How disruptive is a cinema or smart-home installation in an occupied house?

Less than people expect. We plan cabling routes and works carefully and stage them to keep disruption down; in a finished home we can retrofit a great deal with minimal mess. The earlier we are involved, the cleaner the result.

Can you convert a basement or loft into a cinema room?

Yes — Cardiff’s Victorian villa stock is ideal for it. We assess the space for acoustics, access and services, then design a room around it rather than forcing a kit list into an awkward space.

Which brands do you recommend for control and lighting?

We most often specify Lutron, Rako or URC for control and lighting — chosen for reliability and longevity. The right choice depends on your home and how you live in it.

What we do

Home cinema design and installation. A Cardiff cinema project might be a purpose-built room in a Lisvane detached or a basement conversion in Pontcanna — and the approach is the same: design the room first, then fit the technology to it. We handle the acoustics of the room shell, projection or large-format screen, speakers, seating, and one-touch control, so the result looks and sounds like it was always meant to be there.

Smart home and multi-room audio-video. One backbone tying audio, video, lighting, heating and security together, controlled simply from a keypad or phone. We design around control systems we trust for the long term — Lutron, Rako and URC among them — so the house still works beautifully years after we have left.

Hi-fi. Cardiff has real music enthusiasts, and we are a genuine hi-fi specialist, not a box-shifter. We match a system to your room and your ears, whether that is one exquisite source-and-speaker pairing in a Pontcanna villa or a whole-house listening setup.

Lighting design and control. A good lighting-control system — typically Lutron or Rako — turns a house full of switches into a few considered scenes and makes a room feel finished. It reveals the architecture of these Cardiff homes rather than flattening it.
