Wisdom Audio’s Insight Series P2m is an on-wall point-source loudspeaker with a rotatable planar magnetic driver and a 5-inch woofer, for high-resolution sound where in-wall mounting isn’t an option.
The Insight Series P2m is the on-wall (surface-mount) point-source loudspeaker in Wisdom Audio’s Insight range. It brings the same planar magnetic technology as the in-wall models to a slim enclosure that mounts on the wall surface — the answer where the structure won’t allow a flush in-wall fit but the client still wants Wisdom’s clarity and dispersion.
The P2m is a compact on-wall design that can be mounted vertically or horizontally, with a rotatable planar magnetic driver so its dispersion can be oriented correctly whichever way the speaker is fitted. It is offered in black and white with magnetic grilles supplied, so it sits neatly against the wall in a range of rooms.
The planar magnetic driver covers roughly five octaves from a single fast, light diaphragm, giving the P2m its detail and openness. Quoted frequency response is 70Hz–20kHz, sensitivity is 87dB into an 8-ohm load, and maximum SPL is 110dB at one metre. Horizontal-by-vertical dispersion is 70° × 40° (−6dB), giving controlled, even coverage across a listening area.
The P2m uses a single rotatable planar magnetic driver with one 5-inch woofer, crossing over at 650Hz. It requires one channel of amplification per speaker, with a recommended power range of 50–200W, and ships with magnetic grilles in black or white.
Wisdom’s planar magnetic driver uses a lightweight PEEK film diaphragm for fast acceleration and low distortion. As a thin-film planar device it radiates as a single uniform surface, which underlies the P2m’s even, controlled dispersion — and making the driver rotatable means that dispersion pattern can be preserved in either mounting orientation.
