A behind-screen cinema line-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio’s Sage range, using a dual 24-inch planar array over long-throw woofers to deliver full-scale sound hidden behind a projection screen.
The Sage Cinema Line 2 is an in-wall line-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, designed to sit completely hidden behind a projection screen or fabric wall in a dedicated cinema. It is the two-panel model in the Sage cinema range — slightly more compact than the larger Line 3 — and is intended for the front left, centre and right channels of a serious home theatre where the loudspeakers should be neither seen nor heard as boxes.
Built to disappear behind acoustically transparent screen material or a fabric-covered baffle, the Cinema Line 2 keeps the screen wall slim and lets the front channels align precisely behind the image. Like all Sage cinema models it is a concealed loudspeaker by design, so the emphasis is on integration into the room’s architecture rather than on a visible cabinet.
As a line source it spreads sound evenly across the width of the room and reduces floor and ceiling reflections, keeping dialogue and effects consistent across every seat. Quoted frequency response is 60Hz–20kHz ±2dB relative to the target curve, with deep bass handled by dedicated subwoofers — the standard configuration for a reference cinema front stage.
The Cinema Line 2 uses two 24-inch planar-magnetic drivers — a 48-inch driving surface — over four long-throw, high-output woofers. It shares the award-winning Sage planar technology used across the range, so it timbre-matches naturally with other Sage cinema models used for the remaining channels of an immersive layout.
Like the rest of the Sage cinema line, the Line 2 is actively driven: it requires an outboard active crossover with DSP and two channels of amplification, so the planar and woofer sections are each driven and calibrated for the room. This active platform lets the front stage be tuned precisely to the acoustics behind the screen.
