A dedicated cinema line-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio’s Sage range, built to hide completely behind an acoustically transparent projection screen and deliver full-scale, reference cinema sound.
The Sage Cinema Line 3 is a large in-wall line-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, designed for one job: to sit hidden behind a projection screen or fabric wall in a serious private cinema and reproduce a soundtrack at full scale. It is a taller, higher-output relative of the in-wall Sage models, using the same planar-magnetic technology but sized for the front channels of a dedicated theatre.
Because it is meant to be concealed, the Cinema Line 3 is built to disappear behind acoustically transparent screen material or a fabric-covered baffle wall rather than to be seen. Its line-source form factor keeps the front-of-room installation slim, which matters in a purpose-built cinema where screen wall depth is at a premium and every channel has to align precisely behind the image.
As a line source, the Cinema Line 3 distributes sound evenly across the width of the room and reduces floor and ceiling reflections, so dialogue and effects stay consistent from the front row to the back. Quoted frequency response is 60Hz–20kHz ±2dB relative to the target curve, with the low end intended to be met by dedicated subwoofers such as Wisdom’s own — the usual arrangement in a reference cinema.
The Line 3 carries three 24-inch planar-magnetic drivers — a 72-inch driving surface in total — over nine long-throw, high-output woofers, giving the coverage and headroom that motion-picture sound and live music demand. It is voiced to match the rest of the Sage cinema range, so left, centre and right can be timbre-matched behind the screen.
The Cinema Line 3 is an actively driven loudspeaker: it requires an outboard active crossover with DSP and two channels of amplification, so the planar and woofer sections are each driven and calibrated for the room. In a dedicated cinema this active platform is a strength — it lets the front stage be tuned precisely to the acoustics behind the screen.
