The flagship Pulse

The Bluesound Pulse 2i is the largest of the one-piece Pulse range. 150W of bi-amplified power. A four-driver array (two tweeters, two woofers). It sits on a shelf or table without looking like a piece of audio kit. The natural pick when a single Bluesound speaker has to fill a real room.

Bi-amplified, four-driver

True bi-amplification: 65W per woofer, 10W per tweeter. The crossover is handled in the digital domain rather than passively. The result is genuinely room-filling sound from a single unit. Closer in feel to a proper bookshelf-speaker-plus-amplifier setup than to any other one-piece wireless speaker in the £700 range.

Stereo pairing

Buy one Pulse 2i and it works as a fuller-than-usual mono speaker. Buy a second and pair them in the BluOS app. Two Pulse 2is become a true wireless stereo pair. One handles the left channel. One handles the right. Good for the kind of long living room where a single unit can’t separate the stereo image properly.

Where it fits

The Pulse 2i is the right answer for a kitchen, bedroom or office. A Powernode plus separate speakers would feel like overkill in those rooms. A small one-piece (the Pulse Mini, say) won’t fill the space. The 2i lands in the middle. It also pairs sensibly as a portable-ish system for the garden room or sun lounge. Mains-powered, but light enough to move when needed.

BluOS streaming

Same BluOS platform across every current Bluesound product. Native support for 17+ music services. Voice control via Amazon Alexa is available if it suits the room.

Why we recommend it

The Pulse 2i is for households who want one well-built piece of audio kit per room. They don’t want to think about amplifiers, speaker cables or rack placement.
