Innuos – Stream 1 – Music Streamer & Server
From £2,100.00
The entry point to serious Innuos streaming, the Stream 1 is a modular music streamer and server — add NVMe storage and an optional output module to configure it as a streamer, a storage server, or both, all managed from the Innuos Sense app.
Description
Description
Overview
The Stream 1 is Innuos‘ entry-level music streamer and server, and the model most often chosen when a listener wants to step beyond a phone-based source without committing to a full-server architecture. It is deliberately modular: storage and output options can be configured so it works as a streamer, a storage server, or a combination of the two, all managed from the Sense app.
Design & build
The Stream series is built around a mainboard using 13th-generation Intel quad-core processing and 8GB of industrial-grade DDR5 memory, with the operating system carried on a dedicated, power-loss-protected SSD running real-time kernel technology. It is engineered as a settled, purpose-built audio platform rather than a repurposed computer, ready to feed a quality external DAC.
Sound & performance
Innuos position the Stream 1 as the entry into a serious streaming front end. Because Innuos build both hardware and software in-house, the platform tends to sound consistent across firmware revisions and lets the streaming software, noise floor and clocking carry the weight, rather than asking an all-in-one to do everything at once. It grows naturally with the system around it.
Key features
Connectivity includes three USB 3.2 ports and a USB-C for high-speed drives, DACs or charging, plus two 2.5-gigabit Ethernet ports. A digital output module bay accepts an optional module, and a storage expansion bay takes an M.2 NVMe SSD. Storage can be pre-fitted at 2TB or 4TB, or added by the owner.
Technology
Optional output modules include a Standard DAC board, a Performance DAC board, an SPDIF board and a PhoenixUSB board, so the Stream 1 can be tailored to the partnering system. It handles PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD to DSD256 via DoP or DSD512 native, with a maximum of 24-bit/192kHz on the SPDIF and base DAC modules. An optional LPS1 linear power supply is available.

Who it’s for
The Stream 1 suits the listener who wants to move beyond a phone-based source into a proper streaming front end, feeding a quality external DAC of their choosing, with the flexibility to add storage and change output modules as the system develops. It is the cleanest way to begin in the Innuos range.
