The iF Design Award-winning Lyngdorf Cue-100 with a white cabinet warmed by a solid oak base — Scandinavian to its core, with Purifi and AMT engineering inside.
Lyngdorf’s Cue-100 is that rare thing: a loudspeaker conceived as a piece of interior design that gives nothing away sonically. This white-with-oak-base version is the most Scandinavian expression of the range — pale cabinet, natural timber — and carries the same engineering that earned the Cue-100 an iF Design Award in 2024.
The enclosure is a triangle of three tapered, softly rounded sides, CNC-machined from 35mm MDF and internally braced so no parallel surfaces exist inside to sustain standing waves. The oak base grounds the white cabinet visually — furniture rather than equipment. Each speaker measures 350 × 513 × 329mm, weighs about 13.8kg, and is developed and built in Denmark.
The Cue-100 reaches from 35Hz to 22,000Hz (-3dB) with 83dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m) into a nominal 4-ohm load. It is deliberately amplifier-hungry — Lyngdorf suggests 100 watts or more — and with proper power it produces bass depth and dynamic ease that seem implausible from a 51cm-tall cabinet.
Treble comes from an Air Motion Transformer with a Kapton diaphragm and neodymium magnet — a folded-membrane design that moves air differently from a dome, keeping distortion low at high frequencies. A Purifi USHINDI 6.5-inch aluminium-cone mid-woofer does the heavy lifting, supported by two 6.5-inch aluminium passive radiators in place of a port.
Purifi drivers are engineered for exceptionally low distortion, and pairing one with passive-radiator bass loading gives the Cue-100 clean extension without port artefacts. The cabinet geometry — braced, tapered, triangular — is the third pillar of the design.
White or black cabinets, white, black or oak bases and five optional Gabriel® fabric sleeves give 24 possible combinations. The oak base here brings warmth to the white cabinet; matching fabric sleeves with oak tops are listed separately if you fancy a seasonal change of dress.
