Lyngdorf’s MH-3 proves how far miniaturisation can go before sound quality gives way: a two-way satellite in a sealed 0.8-litre MDF cabinet, engineered to hand everything below 110Hz to a subwoofer and do the rest impeccably. In matte black with its black Gabriel® cover, this is the version for rooms where even small must also be dark and silent-looking.
Full-MDF closed-box construction gives the tiny cabinet real solidity, and the black-on-black finish — fabric by Gabriel of Denmark, weaving since 1851 — makes it effectively invisible against dark walls, joinery or equipment. Pairs can go freestanding on the dedicated MH floor stand, with cabling hidden in the column.
The MH-3 spans 110Hz–20,000Hz at 84dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m), 4 ohms nominal, handling 80 watts. Its job is the satellite role in a sub/sat system — crossed to a BW-2 or BW-3, it contributes the imaging and midrange clarity while the subwoofer does the heavy lifting.
The 1-inch textile soft-dome tweeter is PTC-protected; the 4-inch midrange runs an aluminium cone on a 25mm voice coil; the crossover sits at 2.7kHz. Tweeter and mid are close-coupled — the MH family signature — so the speaker radiates almost as a point source.
Point-source behaviour is why these tiny monitors image so precisely. Add RoomPerfect™ calibration from a Lyngdorf amplifier and the whole system — satellites, sub, room — is measured and corrected together rather than guessed at.
