The Perca is the stereo power amplifier from Mola Mola, the Dutch high-end brand built on the engineering of Bruno Putzeys. It takes the company’s proprietary Trajectum amplifier platform — based on Hypex Ncore technology — and houses it in the same compact, half-size chassis as the rest of the Mola Mola range. The result is genuine reference-class power in a component that asks very little of your rack.
The Perca follows Mola Mola’s restrained industrial design: a precise, understated half-size enclosure that partners naturally with the Makua preamplifier and Tambaqui DAC. The ultra-low-distortion Class A input stages are carried on a separate internal board with their own high-performance voltage regulation, isolating the sensitive small-signal circuitry from the power section.
The Perca delivers 150 watts into 8 ohms, doubling to 300 watts into 4 ohms — the mark of a stable, high-current design that keeps its composure into demanding loudspeakers. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 128dB, distortion below 0.0003% and a damping factor greater than 4000, it presents music with exceptional clarity, grip and quietness, letting the character of partnering equipment come through unmasked.
Inputs are selectable between balanced XLR and single-ended RCA, with switchable gain of 22dB or 28dB to suit different system contexts. The amplifier is built around Mola Mola’s Trajectum implementation of Ncore, engineered for high power alongside the very low noise floor for which the technology is known.
At the heart of the Perca is the Trajectum platform, Mola Mola’s development of Hypex Ncore switching amplification. Its performance rests on separating the low-level analogue input stages — run in Class A with dedicated regulation — from the high-power output stage, so the signal path stays clean and the amplifier’s measured behaviour is exemplary across the audio band and beyond, to a bandwidth of 100kHz.
