The Insight Series P4m is an on-wall point-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, the architectural planar-magnetic specialist. It pairs Wisdom’s thin-film planar driver with twin woofers in a slim enclosure that mounts on the wall or sits on a shelf, delivering high-resolution sound for both music and cinema where an in-wall fit is not possible.
At only 4.13 inches (105mm) deep, the P4m is designed to sit close to the wall. It ships with flush-fitting wall brackets and can be mounted vertically or horizontally, or placed on a shelf. With its grille it measures 33.15 × 8.07 × 4.66 inches (84.2 × 20.5 × 11.84 cm) and weighs around 25lb (11.3kg) shipping.
The P4m uses a rotatable planar-magnetic driver alongside two high-output 5-inch woofers. Quoted frequency response is 50Hz–20kHz, with 6-ohm impedance, 89dB sensitivity and a maximum output of 112dB at one metre. Recommended amplifier power is 50–200W. The rotatable driver lets the speaker be optimised whether mounted upright or on its side.
The rotatable thin-film planar driver is the defining feature, giving installation flexibility without compromising the performance in either orientation. Two woofers handle the lower registers, and the speaker uses an internal passive crossover (crossover frequency 650Hz), so it drives from a standard amplifier channel.
