The Olympica Nova III is the three-way floorstanding loudspeaker in Sonus Faber‘s Olympica Nova collection, handmade in Vicenza, Italy. It sits above the collection’s stand-mount and smaller floorstander in our loudspeakers range, adding a second woofer for greater scale and low-end authority while keeping the natural, musical voicing and cabinet craft for which Sonus Faber is celebrated.

Design & build

The cabinet follows Sonus Faber’s asymmetric lute-shaped form, built from curved solid-wood layers to control internal resonance, finished by hand in natural wood veneers. It is offered in Walnut, Wenge and Piano Black, dressed with aluminium accents and Italian leather detailing. Bass loading is by the brand’s para-aperiodic Stealth Ultraflex vented system, and the speaker measures 14.8 × 43.5 × 18.1 inches, weighing 77.1 lb each.

Sound & performance

As a three-way design the Olympica Nova III divides the range across dedicated drivers, giving an open midband and controlled, weighty bass. Quoted frequency response is 35Hz–35kHz with a sensitivity of 90dB and a 4-ohm nominal impedance.
