Overview

The Sage Series C20i is a compact in-wall point-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio. It brings the brand’s thin-film planar-magnetic technology into a smaller, single-driver format intended to blend invisibly into a wall or ceiling while still reaching full range. The C20 family is flexible: as well as the in-wall C20i, it is offered as an on-wall C20m and a free-standing C20, all voiced to match so they can be mixed within one installation.

Design & build

The C20i is slim and elegant, designed to sit flush behind a grille that can be finished to disappear into the room; optional custom-length grilles let it be tailored to the wall. As a point-source design it suits rooms where a full line-source array would be unnecessary — smaller listening spaces, secondary rooms, or supporting channels within a larger cinema where the main speakers are larger Sage models.

Despite its size, the C20i is a genuine full-range loudspeaker rather than a background speaker. The planar-magnetic driver gives the open, low-distortion midrange and treble Wisdom is known for, while two high-output woofers provide the low end. Quoted frequency response is 40Hz–20kHz ±2dB relative to the target curve, holding to 40Hz–15kHz ±2dB even 30 degrees off axis — useful consistency across a spread of seats.
