This is the largest in-wall line-source loudspeaker in Wisdom Audio‘s Sage Series — the C225i. It scales the brand’s thin-film planar-magnetic array up to three panels and adds a very large woofer section, for reference full-range performance in big rooms and serious cinema systems that must still keep the loudspeaker completely out of sight.
Built as tall, slim architectural planar and bass sections, the C225i sits flush in the wall behind a paintable, colour-matched grille, with custom-length grilles available. Even at this scale it remains a concealed line source rather than a visible cabinet — the point of the design is uncompromised output from a loudspeaker the room never shows.
The line-source geometry distributes sound evenly across the width of a large room and substantially reduces floor and ceiling reflections, holding clarity and imaging consistent across a wide seating area. Quoted frequency response is 25Hz–20kHz ±2dB relative to the target curve — deep, even, full-range reach with the headroom a large space needs.
The planar array uses three 24-inch thin-film planar-magnetic drivers — a 72-inch driving surface in total — over twenty-four high-output woofers, for the scale and dynamic capability that a large room and demanding material require. The lightweight PEEK planar film gives fast, low-distortion midrange and treble across the tall array.
The C225i is an actively driven system: it requires an outboard active crossover with DSP and five channels of amplification, so its planar and woofer sections are each driven and equalised precisely for the room. This active platform is how Wisdom sustains reference full-range output from a slim in-wall enclosure of this size.
