The Sage Series L100i is an in-wall line-source loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, built for listeners who want full-range, reference-grade sound without a visible cabinet. It pairs a tall thin-film planar-magnetic array with a separate high-output woofer section, so the speaker itself effectively vanishes into the wall while still delivering scale and authority across a large room. It is offered as the in-wall L100i, with a matching on-wall L100m for rooms where an in-wall fit is not possible.

Design & build

Both the planar and bass columns are slim architectural sections designed to sit flush in the wall behind a paintable grille, which can be colour-matched to the décor or specified as a custom-length grille to suit the room. Because it is a true line source rather than a boxed speaker, the L100i avoids the bulky enclosure that a conventional full-range design of this capability would demand, and lends itself to open-plan living spaces and dedicated media rooms alike.

Sound & performance

The line-source geometry is central to how the L100i performs: it distributes sound uniformly across the width of a room and substantially reduces floor and ceiling reflections, which keeps clarity and imaging consistent over distance and across a wide seating area. The result is an open, detailed presentation with genuine dynamic headroom, well suited to large modern rooms where a point-source speaker would struggle to stay even from seat to seat.

The planar array uses two 24-inch thin-film planar-magnetic drivers — a 48-inch driving surface in total — covering six octaves for wide, coherent midrange and treble. The planar film is a lightweight PEEK material chosen for fast, low-mass acceleration and low distortion.

Technology

Like all Sage Series line sources, the L100i is an actively driven system rather than a passive box. It requires an outboard active crossover with DSP, and three channels of amplification, so the planar and woofer sections are each driven and equalised precisely for the room.
