The Sage Series P38i is a point-source in-wall loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, a specialist in planar-magnetic and architectural high-performance speakers. It combines a planar-magnetic driver array with high-output woofers to deliver full-range, high-resolution sound from a speaker that sits flush in the wall — performance normally associated with large free-standing loudspeakers, hidden from view.
The P38i uses an all-aluminium chassis with an integral back-box enclosure, so its performance stays consistent regardless of the wall construction or the cavity behind it. Its narrow-aspect in-wall form, with a paintable grille and bezel, is designed to become one with the wall and decorate out of sight, making it well suited to rooms where the loudspeakers should be neither seen nor compromised.
As a point-source design the P38i focuses its energy coherently, giving precise imaging with a large, uniform listening area. It is quoted with a frequency response of 40 Hz–20 kHz (±3 dB relative to the target curve), and pairs a planar-magnetic array covering the midrange and treble with four woofers each described as more than twice as powerful as a typical driver — the result is low distortion, high resolution and wide dynamic range.

The planar-magnetic driver is a large, low-mass diaphragm that moves as one, which is central to the P38i’s speed and clarity. Because the system is designed around outboard DSP and an active crossover, its response is defined by Wisdom’s processing to a target curve rather than by a fixed passive network — part of what allows such consistent results across different installations.
