Innuos PULSE Music Network Player
£2,699.00
A step up from the PULSE mini, the Innuos PULSE is a network music player with a custom RECAP2 linear power supply and a balanced AES/EBU output — usable as a standalone streamer or as an endpoint feeding an external DAC, controlled entirely from the Innuos Sense app.
Description
Description
Overview
The PULSE is a network music player from Innuos that sits a clear step above the PULSE mini, adding a substantial linear power supply and extended connectivity. It can act as the centre of a system in standalone mode or as an endpoint feeding a main server, and it is controlled entirely from the Innuos Sense app — a flexible source for a serious digital front end.
Design & build
The PULSE has a wide, bead-blasted anodised aluminium front panel available in silver or black, giving it a settled presence in a rack or on a shelf. Asymmetrical feet support the player and are placed to help damp vibration from the system during playback. It is built to sit alongside quality electronics rather than to be tucked away.
Sound & performance
Much of the PULSE’s performance comes from its power supply. The custom RECAP2 linear supply, developed with Dr Sean Jacobs, uses a medical-grade filtered inlet, an audio-grade toroidal transformer with an epoxy-filled centre for damping, and over 40,000 microfarads of high-end Mundorf capacitance. A low, clean power foundation of this kind is central to how a streamer sounds.
Key features
The PULSE offers upgraded coaxial and optical digital outputs plus a balanced AES/EBU output for connection to quality DACs and amplifiers. It has 8GB of RAM for handling larger library databases. In standalone mode it plays streaming services, internet radio and NAS-stored music through Sense; in endpoint mode it connects to an Innuos server, HQ Player or a Logitech Media Server host.
Technology
The SPDIF outputs carry PCM up to 24-bit/192kHz, while the USB output supports up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD (to DSD256 via DoP, DSD512 native). Innuos build both the hardware and the operating software in-house, which is a large part of why the platform sounds consistent across firmware revisions and integrates cleanly with the rest of a system.
Specifications
Type: network music player (standalone or endpoint). Power supply: custom RECAP2 linear supply (medical-grade inlet, toroidal transformer, 40,000 µF Mundorf capacitance). Digital outputs: coaxial SPDIF, optical SPDIF, balanced AES/EBU (to 24-bit/192kHz PCM); USB (to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD256/DSD512). Memory: 8GB RAM. Control: Innuos Sense app. Finishes: silver or black anodised aluminium.
Who it’s for
The PULSE suits the listener stepping beyond a phone-based source who wants a properly engineered streamer to feed an external DAC or a capable integrated amplifier — with the flexibility to run it standalone today and as an endpoint later. It rewards a quality DAC and careful system matching.
Why buy from Hidden Home Technology
A streamer of this class rewards careful pairing with a DAC and amplification. We can demonstrate the PULSE, advise on the right output configuration and partnering electronics, and arrange delivery and installation across the South. Speak to our team to arrange a listen or to specify your system.
