The Strato V is Kaleidescape’s all-in-one 4K movie player — a complete system in a single component. It pairs an onboard solid-state drive with direct access to the Kaleidescape Movie Store, so films are downloaded and played back at full reference quality rather than streamed. For many rooms it is the most direct way into a Kaleidescape system, with the option to expand later.
The Strato V is a compact, fan-cooled standalone unit that sits neatly in an equipment rack or cabinet. It measures 7.87 × 1.52 × 10.0 inches (W × H × D) and weighs 4.2 lb (1.91 kg), so it integrates discreetly into a dedicated cinema or a media room.
Video is delivered in 4K with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and SDR, drawn from Kaleidescape’s high-bitrate masters rather than a compressed stream. Audio is carried losslessly over HDMI, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio — object-based, theatre-grade soundtracks reproduced exactly as mastered.
A 960GB solid-state drive holds approximately ten reference 4K titles on board in standalone mode. The player has full access to the Kaleidescape Movie Store, with downloads completing quickly over a wired gigabit connection. When more capacity is needed, the system can be expanded by adding a Terra or Terra Prime movie server.
Connectivity is by HDMI 2.1 with HDCP 2.3, plus Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Base-T) for downloads and control. A digital audio output (optical/coaxial, two-channel PCM up to 96kHz/24-bit) is provided for legacy equipment. The Kaleidescape platform integrates cleanly with the major control systems for one-touch operation alongside the rest of an AV installation.
