Lyngdorf’s MH-2 compact monitor in matte white with a grey Gabriel® fabric cover — close-coupled drivers that behave like a point source, made to partner a BW subwoofer.
The MH-2 is the larger of Lyngdorf’s two compact monitors — a two-way speaker whose tweeter and mid driver sit so close together they behave almost as a single point source. In matte white with its grey Gabriel® fabric cover, it is made for bright rooms and discreet systems, partnered with one of Lyngdorf’s BW subwoofers for full-range results.
The compact cabinet wears a matte white finish under a grey fabric cover woven by Gabriel of Denmark, textile specialists since 1851 — a soft, domestic presentation that photography never quite does justice. A dedicated MH floor stand is available for freestanding placement at correct listening height.
Response spans 100Hz to 20,000Hz (-3dB) with 87dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m) into 4 ohms nominal, and power handling of 100 watts. The MH-2 is voiced as the satellite in a sub/sat system: let a BW-2 or BW-3 take the low frequencies and it rewards you with precision and surprising dynamics.
A 1-inch textile soft-dome tweeter with PTC overload protection crosses at 2.2kHz to a 5.25-inch aluminium-cone midrange driver with a 35mm voice coil and vented magnet. Mounting the two drivers as close as physically possible is the design’s signature.
Close-coupled drivers approximate an ideal point source — sound radiating coherently from one spot, which is why small monitors image the way they do. Combined with RoomPerfect™ calibration from a Lyngdorf amplifier, an MH-2 system sounds far bigger and better organised than its footprint suggests.
