Description

This is the optional DAC board for a compatible Makua or Kula, not a complete external DAC. It adds digital-source connections within the host amplifier and uses Mola Mola’s in-house discrete conversion technology.

Digital inputs and Roon playback

The manufacturer lists AES/EBU, optical Toslink, USB-B, Bluetooth and Roon Ready Ethernet inputs. PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD up to quad speed are supported, with rates above 192kHz/24-bit and DSD restricted to USB and Roon. Roon Ready means endpoint playback: you still need Roon Server and a licence.

Choose the internal or external route

For Makua or Kula, the module keeps conversion inside the existing chassis. Choose the standalone Tambaqui DAC when you want a separate unit or need its external connection set and headphone outputs. The module is not a universal upgrade for other brands.
