Description
The TAD Micro Evolution One (ME1) distils TAD’s reference loudspeaker engineering into a compact standmount cabinet — a true three-way design built around the technologies found in TAD’s flagship reference series.
At its heart is TAD’s signature CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver: a concentric unit mounting a 2.5cm beryllium dome tweeter at the centre of a 9cm magnesium-cone midrange, so midrange and treble radiate from a single point for precise, stable imaging and a phase-coherent soundstage. Bass comes from a 16cm MACC (Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone) woofer, vented through TAD’s Bi-Directional Aero-Dynamic Slot (ADS) port to reduce port noise and internal standing waves. The enclosure uses TAD’s SILENT construction — birch ply and MDF reinforced with 5mm steel panels — to stay inert.
Despite its compact footprint, the ME1 reaches down to 36Hz and extends to an extraordinary 60kHz, delivering the scale, detail and musical authority of a far larger speaker — ideal where reference performance is wanted without a full floorstanding footprint.
