Overview

This Sage Superbar is a purpose-built left-centre-right loudspeaker array from Wisdom Audio, combining two C20m point-source speakers with a single, larger C38m as the centre channel. It creates a complete, timbre-matched front stage in one on-wall assembly — a clean solution for a media room or cinema built around a large flat-panel display, where three discrete speakers would be harder to place and align.

Design & build

Configured for on-wall or free-standing mounting, the array is designed to flank or sit beneath a screen as a single slim bar. Being Wisdom, it is built to be finished discreetly — custom colours, lengths and finishes let it integrate with the wall rather than dominate it. Overall length is specified to the installation, from roughly 73 inches up to 146 inches depending on the layout.

Sound & performance

The point-source design suits a defined listening area in front of a screen, delivering the open, low-distortion planar sound Wisdom is known for with a coherent centre image for dialogue. Quoted frequency response is 35Hz–20kHz ±2dB relative to the target curve, giving genuine full-range reach across all three front channels rather than leaving bass entirely to subwoofers.

Key features

The Superbar carries three planar-magnetic drivers — one per channel — over a combined eight high-output woofers. Because left, centre and right are the same Sage point-source designs, the front stage is inherently timbre-matched, so effects pan seamlessly across the screen. The planar film is lightweight PEEK for fast, low-distortion response.

Technology

As a three-channel Wisdom array it is actively driven: it requires an outboard active crossover with DSP and six channels of amplification — two per channel — so each speaker’s planar and woofer sections are driven and equalised precisely for the room. This active approach is how the array stays coherent and full-range in a real installation.
