The Sage Cinema Point 2 V2 is a flexible point-source cinema loudspeaker from Wisdom Audio, designed for the surround and overhead channels of an immersive theatre. It brings the brand’s planar-magnetic sound to positions where a large line source is impractical, and — unusually for Wisdom — it runs passively, which simplifies the amplification and processing needed for the many channels of a modern immersive layout.
Its defining feature is adjustability: the planar-magnetic driver module rotates through 90 degrees and tilts up to 22.5 degrees, so the speaker can be aimed accurately at the listening area whether it is fitted in-wall, on-wall or in-ceiling. That flexibility makes it a practical choice for the surround and height channels of a cinema, where each speaker sits at a different angle to the seats.
As a point source it delivers Wisdom’s open, low-distortion planar sound with the directivity suited to surround and overhead effects. Quoted frequency response is 60Hz–20kHz, with deep bass left to dedicated subwoofers as is normal for a cinema installation. It handles 200W continuous and 600W peak, giving the headroom that dynamic film soundtracks demand from a surround channel.
The Cinema Point 2 V2 uses a single planar-magnetic driver covering five octaves, over one high-output woofer. The rotating-and-tilting planar module is the key practical feature, letting one model serve multiple positions around a room while staying timbre-matched with the rest of a Sage cinema system for seamless pans overhead and around the seats.
Unlike the actively driven Sage line sources, the Cinema Point 2 V2 uses an all-passive crossover and needs no outboard DSP or PEQ, requiring just one channel of power amplification. That makes it straightforward to deploy in quantity for the surround and height layers of an Atmos, DTS:X or Auro-3D system without a channel of active processing for every speaker.
