Innuos released Sense 26 on 19 October. It is the 2026 edition of the software inside every Innuos music server and streamer, and it is available for systems from the ZEN Mk3 series onwards. That takes in the PULSE, STATEMENT, ZEN Next-Gen, STREAM and Nazaré ranges, including machines up to nine years old.

Classical music, organised by the work
The biggest change is what Innuos calls the Classical Experience. Album pages now group tracks under the work they belong to and show the composer, conductor, orchestra, ensemble, choir and soloists in a consistent way. Composer pages gain a Works section, and each work has its own page listing every recording of it in your library. Now Playing shows the work above the movement, and search finds music by composer, work, conductor, soloist or ensemble.
CDs ripped on an Innuos are now tagged with full classical metadata, and a redesigned album editor lets you check and correct it. Discs ripped in the past can be enriched by rescanning the library, without overwriting the edits you have already made. The rescan is optional and Innuos warns that it can take several hours on a large collection.
AirPlay 2 and a wider volume range
Sense 26 brings official AirPlay 2. Any app on an iPhone, iPad or Mac can now stream straight to your Innuos and play through its own music engine. Innuos points to apps such as Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube.
A new per-DAC output gain setting runs from −2 dB to −12 dB. It gives the software volume control more range when an Innuos feeds active speakers or a power amplifier directly.
Qobuz and TIDAL
Playlists from both services now update while they are open, and explicit tracks carry a label. Sense also checks for duplicates when you add to a Qobuz playlist, and lets you remove Qobuz tracks and albums that are no longer available.
The Hidden Home view
Our director, Dan Crick, calls Sense “such a super stable, intuitive piece of software”.
Classical collectors will feel this update most. A library that gathers movements under the work, and lets you compare every recording of a piece, matches the way a classical listener already thinks about music. It is also a good example of why we like Innuos. An update this substantial reaching machines nine years old means the server you buy keeps improving long after it arrives. Our ZEN Next-Gen review goes deeper on the server itself.
