The Strato C is Kaleidescape’s compact 4K movie player, drawing reference-quality film and lossless soundtracks from a networked Terra server to deliver picture and sound well beyond ordinary streaming.
The Strato C is Kaleidescape’s compact 4K Ultra HD movie player. Unlike the all-in-one Strato V, it has no onboard storage: it draws its films from a networked Kaleidescape Terra server (or a Strato with internal storage), which makes it the natural choice for a multi-room system where several players share one central library. Films are played from Kaleidescape’s own high-bitrate masters rather than a compressed stream.
The Strato C is a compact standalone unit measuring 7.87 × 1.52 × 10.0 inches and weighing 4.2 lb, so it fits neatly into a rack or cabinet. A rack shelf is available for 19-inch racks (1U), and a wall mount allows it to be fitted discreetly behind a display — useful in a media room or a second zone where cabinet space is limited.
Video is delivered in reference 4K Ultra HD with SDR and HDR10, up to 2160p at 60 fps, using SMPTE ST 2084 and ST 2086 metadata for HDR. Audio is carried losslessly over HDMI, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio — object-based, theatre-grade soundtracks reproduced exactly as mastered.

A Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Base-T) connection links it to the Terra server and the network, and digital audio is available on coaxial and Toslink outputs for legacy equipment.
