The Kaleidescape Strato M is the entry point to a Kaleidescape system: a compact 4K movie player with onboard storage, delivering lossless audio and reference-quality video for secondary rooms and beyond.
The Strato M is Kaleidescape’s entry-level movie player, bringing the company’s downloaded, non-streamed film experience to a compact, affordable component. It pairs onboard solid-state storage with access to the Kaleidescape Movie Store, so films are downloaded and played back at reference quality rather than streamed — ideal for secondary rooms, or as a scalable first step into a Kaleidescape system.
The Strato M is a very compact, silent-running unit with a small footprint and low power consumption, designed to sit discreetly in a media room or secondary space. It measures 6.4 × 1.1 × 6.4 inches (16.3 × 3 × 16.3 cm) and weighs just 1.6 lb (0.73 kg), making it easy to place or even to take with you.
The Strato M supports 4K Dolby Vision, 4K HDR10, 4K SDR, HD and SD content, with video output up to 2K — positioned for secondary spaces and viewing distances of roughly 1.5× the screen width or greater. Audio is delivered losslessly over HDMI, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, so soundtracks are reproduced exactly as mastered.
A 480GB solid-state drive holds approximately six Kaleidescape high-bitrate movies on board for standalone use. Films download at up to 100 Mbps with no buffering, unlike streaming services. The player is scalable: connect it to a Terra Prime movie server to access larger libraries and unlock features such as the covers view and parental controls.
Connectivity is by HDMI 2.1 with Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Base-T) for downloads and control. It outputs standard and low-latency Dolby Vision and HDR10, and supports a wide range of surround formats over HDMI, including PCM up to 7.1 channels at 96kHz/24-bit. The Kaleidescape platform integrates with major control systems for one-touch operation.
