The Lyngdorf CS-2 is a compact two-way full-range speaker designed to be built into furniture or a wall niche — a discreet way to bring proper Lyngdorf sound to installations where a conventional speaker will not do.
The CS-2 is a compact full-range loudspeaker from Lyngdorf, designed primarily to be built into furniture or a niche in the wall. It answers a common problem in considered interiors — how to get genuine sound quality where a freestanding or on-wall speaker would intrude — with a proper two-way design intended to be integrated out of sight. This example is finished in matte black.
The CS-2 uses a full MDF, front-ported bass-reflex enclosure of 15 litres. It measures 42.0 × 30.7 × 20 cm (16.5 × 12.1 × 7.9 inches) and weighs 8.1 kg. Because the port is on the front, the speaker can be enclosed in cabinetry or a recess without choking the bass, which makes it genuinely practical to build in.
The CS-2 is quoted with a frequency response of 42Hz–22,000Hz (−3dB), a sensitivity of 88dB (2.83V/1m) and a nominal 4-ohm impedance, handling up to 100W. For a speaker of its size and purpose, that is a full and even response — enough to serve as a capable main or supplementary loudspeaker in a well-integrated system.
The CS-2 is a two-way design with an angled tweeter to aid dispersion when the speaker is built in, and front-ported bass loading so it works within an enclosure. Its compact, defined dimensions make it straightforward to design into joinery or a wall recess, and it pairs naturally with Lyngdorf electronics and room correction.
The tweeter is a 1-inch textile soft dome with PTC protection, angled to improve off-axis response in built-in positions. The mid/bass driver is a 6.5-inch aluminium cone on a die-cast basket with a 35 mm voice coil and a vented magnet, chosen for control and low compression. Front porting keeps the bass tuning valid even when the cabinet is enclosed.
