The MP-40 2.1 brings Lyngdorf’s reference processor engineering to rooms that don’t need the flagship MP-60’s channel count or professional digital I/O. It decodes 12 native channels of immersive audio, corrects the room with RoomPerfect™, and passes the latest video formats untouched. This version is supplied with the 4U rack-mounting kit.
Design & build
Danish-built and rack-ready, the MP-40 2.1 shares its family’s restrained industrial design and its serious internal engineering — a processor designed for installation, with the included hardware fixing it neatly into a standard 19-inch rack.
Picture & sound
The HDMI 2.1 video platform supports 8K and 3D video with HDCP 2.3, passing Dolby Vision™, HDR10+ and dynamic HDR metadata through to the display, with variable refresh rate, auto low-latency mode and Quick Frame Transport for gaming. On the audio side, Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X® and AURO-3D® are decoded natively across 12 channels and delivered through 16 balanced audio outputs.
Key features
Three HDMI inputs (one with eARC) and two outputs support 40Gbps fixed rate link video plus eARC, Dynamic Lip-Sync and Quick Media Switching. Digital audio inputs include AES/EBU, three coaxial and four optical S/PDIF connections and USB audio, with an XLR microphone input for RoomPerfect calibration.

RoomPerfect is the reason people buy Lyngdorf processors: it measures the loudspeakers from multiple positions in your actual room and corrects the system across the listening area, rather than flattering a single seat. Who it’s for
The MP-40 2.1 suits a serious dedicated cinema or high-end media room running up to 12 channels — a 7.1.4 Atmos layout, for instance — where reference processing and room correction matter more than expansion headroom. Larger layouts and digital cinema connectivity belong to the MP-60, listed separately.
