Overview
The Sonetto II is a compact two-way standmount loudspeaker in Sonus Faber’s Sonetto range. It is designed to bring the company’s natural, musical voice and hand-finished Italian craftsmanship to a smaller room or a system where a floorstander would be too much — without giving up the sense of scale and warmth Sonus Faber is known for.
Design & build
The cabinet follows Sonus Faber’s iconic lute shape, whose curved sides help control internal resonances, and is built around the range’s “Natural Sound” approach to materials. It is offered in Walnut, Wenge and Piano Black finishes, each combining wood with leather and a concrete-effect detail, with a limited-edition matte-white version also produced. An optional aluminium Sonetto stand with a concrete base is available to partner it.
Sound & performance
As a two-way standmount the Sonetto II is quoted with a frequency response of 42 Hz–40 kHz and a recommended amplifier power of 30–200 W. Despite its compact dimensions it is voiced for surprisingly powerful and well-judged bass, alongside the open, natural midband and refined treble that define the range.
Key features
Two-way standmount design; lute-shaped cabinet for resonance control; natural-material driver membranes with an organic driver basket, in keeping with Sonus Faber’s Natural Sound philosophy; crossover point at 3,100 Hz. Compatible with the optional Sonetto stand for correct height and stability.
Technology
Sonus Faber’s Natural Sound philosophy guides the choice of natural materials for the driver membranes and the design of the cabinet, so that resonances are managed rather than merely suppressed. The lute-shaped enclosure and considered crossover are aimed at a coherent, believable presentation across the frequency range.
Specifications

Who it’s for
The Sonetto II suits the listener with a smaller-to-medium room, or a second system, who wants a genuine Sonus Faber — natural tone, real craftsmanship and more scale than the cabinet size suggests. It works equally well as a two-channel standmount or as part of a matched surround system.
