The Wisdom Audio S57i is an in-wall transmission-line subwoofer that fits a standard stud bay, yet reaches down to 25Hz — concealed bass with the speed and articulation of the finest freestanding designs.
The S57i is Wisdom Audio’s in-wall transmission-line subwoofer, engineered to deliver deep, articulate bass from within a standard wall or ceiling. Part of a custom-install-focused range, it offers the kind of low-frequency performance normally associated with large freestanding subwoofers, but disappears into the building fabric.
The S57i mounts in-wall or in-ceiling within a 2×4 stud bay at just over four inches deep, fitting behind 1/2-inch or 5/8-inch drywall. Its transmission-line enclosure is folded to fit the cavity while loading a single 10-inch high-operating woofer. At around 40 lb it is comparatively light for a subwoofer, easing installation into new-build or retrofit walls.
The transmission-line design gives depth, dynamics and low distortion, with a quoted flat response across a 25Hz–130Hz operating range (25Hz–130Hz ±3dB, −10dB at 22Hz) and a maximum SPL of 108dB at 1m. The result is fast, tonally accurate bass that integrates seamlessly with high-resolution main speakers rather than simply adding weight.

A transmission line loads the rear of the driver through a long, tuned path, extending low-frequency output while keeping the driver well controlled — giving high sensitivity, high output and low distortion in a shallow enclosure. Paired with the required DSP and amplification, the S57i is tuned to blend with the speed of planar and high-resolution main channels.
