The 702 S3 is the 700 Series floorstander we tend to look at when a room needs proper full-range presence without stepping into the 800 Series. In a dedicated music room, open-plan living space or a cinema where the front left and right channels must do more than simply flank a screen, it gives us the scale and composure to build a system around. We will usually partner it with amplification that has firm current delivery and a naturally clean preamp stage, then match the centre and surrounds from the same Bowers & Wilkins family where dialogue consistency matters. In a theatre layout it can work beautifully with discreet architectural speakers at the sides or rear, provided the front three are voiced and levelled carefully. Setup is not a formality: the downward port arrangement still needs sensible distance from boundaries, toe-in should be judged from the actual listening positions, and bass integration with subwoofers is best handled by measurement rather than assumption. Compared with the 703 S3, the 702 S3 is the choice for larger rooms, higher listening levels and clients who want their stereo pair to remain genuinely satisfying when the screen is off; the smaller model can be neater where space and budget are tighter. A house for high frequencies
The 700 Series features the latest generation of our iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing. Its new, more elongated form incorporates a longer tube-loading system to produce an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminium to better resist resonance.
Sharper detail
Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.

Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ cone avoids the abrupt transitions in behaviour that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.

Every three-way loudspeaker in the new 700 Series has a dedicated midrange cone using four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: the Continuum cone, FST™, Biomimetic Suspension and midrange decoupling, the latter ensuring minimal interference from the operation of the loudspeaker’s bass drivers.
