The Oscar Trio is the floorstanding model in Marten’s Oscar series, and it brings the Swedish house’s ceramic-driver engineering and natural voicing into a more attainable loudspeaker. A two-way floorstander, it is aimed at the listener who wants genuine Marten clarity and tone, with the scale and bass reach that a floorstanding cabinet allows.
The cabinet is built from 25 mm fibre laminate for rigidity and resonance control, in a slim floorstanding form. It is offered in Matte Walnut, Piano Black and Piano White finishes, so it can be matched to the room. Internally it is wired with Jorma Design cabling and terminated with WBT NextGen single-wiring terminals.
As a two-way floorstander the Oscar Trio is quoted with a frequency range of 27 Hz–20 kHz (±3 dB) and a sensitivity of 89 dB, with a nominal 6-ohm impedance (around 3.1 ohm minimum). The pairing of a ceramic tweeter and twin ceramic woofers is intended to give a clear, natural and controlled sound with deeper bass than a stand-mount can offer.
The driver complement is a 1-inch ceramic tweeter and two 7-inch ceramic woofers, custom-designed for Marten. A second-order crossover at 2,500 Hz, WBT NextGen single-wiring terminals and Jorma Design internal wiring complete a specification that punches well above the norm at its position in the range.
Marten uses hard ceramic (also known as sapphire) for its membranes because it is light yet extremely rigid, with a high internal damping factor from a refined electrochemical process and a high material resonance frequency — all of which push distortion down and lift clarity. It is the same driver philosophy that runs through Marten’s flagship models, applied here in a more accessible loudspeaker.
