Marten – Parker Series – Quintet
£28,000.00
The flagship floorstander of Marten’s Parker series: a 2.5-way design with an all-ceramic driver array and four side-firing passive radiators, hand-built in Sweden for scale, speed and low-level resolution.
Description
Description
Overview
The Quintet is the largest model in Marten‘s Parker series, a 2.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker built in Sweden around the company’s signature ceramic drive units. It is designed to bring the speed and clarity Marten is known for to larger rooms, pairing a substantial bass array with a single-crossover-point philosophy for a coherent, uncoloured presentation.
Design & build
The cabinet is constructed from 35mm M-board and finished to a high standard in Piano Walnut, Matte Walnut or Piano Black. Bass loading is by four 9-inch aluminium passive radiators rather than a port, which sidesteps port noise while retaining low-end extension. Internal wiring is by Jorma, and connection is single-wire through WBT Nextgen terminals.
Sound & performance
As a 2.5-way design the Quintet keeps its crossover simple, with a single acoustic transition at 2200Hz. The all-ceramic driver array gives the rigidity and low mass that lend Marten loudspeakers their characteristic transient speed and resolution, while four 7.5-inch bass/midrange units and the passive-radiator loading provide weight and scale. Quoted frequency response is 24Hz–40kHz ±2dB.
Key features
The driver complement comprises a 1-inch pure ceramic tweeter, four 7.5-inch ceramic bass/midrange drivers and four 9-inch aluminium passive radiators. Sensitivity is 93dB at 2.83V with a 4-ohm nominal impedance (2.7 ohms minimum), and power handling is rated at 350W. The tweeter is upgradable to a diamond unit for owners who wish to take resolution further.
Technology
Marten’s ceramic drivers use very stiff, light diaphragms to push break-up modes well beyond the audible band, which is central to the brand’s clean, fast sound. The crossover uses polypropylene capacitors and copper-foil inductors in the standard version; the diamond edition steps up to copper-foil capacitors. The multi-order network is voiced to keep phase behaviour tidy around the single crossover point.

Who it’s for
The Quintet suits the serious listener with a medium-to-large room who wants genuine scale alongside the transparency and speed of ceramic drivers, and who values a simple, coherent crossover. It rewards careful amplification and considered placement, and can be specified with the diamond tweeter for the last measure of detail.
