StormAudio is a French specialist with a single focus: immersive home cinema. Its processors and amplifiers are designed and manufactured in France, engineered for dedicated cinema rooms rather than adapted from mass-market receivers, and the company’s whole catalogue serves that one purpose — decoding the latest immersive audio formats and delivering them, precisely calibrated, through anything from a compact media room to a thirty-two-channel reference cinema.The range is built around three processor lines. The modular ISP Elite is the flagship; the ISP Core distils the same platform — identical DAC components and up to eighteen channels of decoding from sixteen balanced outputs — into a more compact chassis; and the ISP Evo, introduced in 2023 and named a CES Innovation Award honoree the following year, moves to fully digital outputs, running twenty or thirty-two channels over AES/EBU or audio-over-IP for the new generation of networked cinema rooms. Alongside them sit the ISR Fusion receiver, which adds onboard amplification, and StormAudio’s own power amplifiers. Everything is modular and upgradeable by design, so a Storm installation can grow with its room.Calibration is where StormAudio has led the market. The complete Dirac Live suite — Room Correction, Bass Control and Active Room Treatment — comes included rather than sold as extra licences, and StormAudio was the first manufacturer to bring Active Room Treatment, which uses the system’s own speakers to cancel the room’s low-frequency decay, to market.The platform is also unusually flexible in the hands of a good installer. Speaker layouts can be reconfigured by simple preset selection — different listening experiences and speaker usages from the same processor — and one unit will serve more than the main room, with multi-theatre, multi-layout and multi-room processing plus flexible bass routing across any number of subwoofers. Twenty bands of installer-adjustable parametric EQ per channel sit alongside Dirac for fine manual tuning, and the processor manages multi-way active loudspeaker designs directly, providing the crossovers itself. Add StormXT ambience processing, Roon readiness, a five-year warranty and official drivers for URC and the other major control platforms, and you have a processor family built for serious, properly integrated cinema rooms.A processor of this calibre only delivers when the room around it is right.
