TAD M1000 Power Amplifier
£19,500.00
TAD’s Evolution-series stereo power amplifier: a fully balanced, dual-mono Class D design that drives demanding loudspeakers with precision, control and very low distortion.
Description
Description
Overview
The M1000 is the stereo power amplifier in TAD‘s Evolution series, engineered around the company’s pursuit of symmetry in both circuit and structure. It is built to drive loudspeakers to their limits with precise control, isolating the two channels completely from input to output so that balance is maintained throughout the signal path.
Design & build
The M1000 follows a thoroughgoing dual-mono construction: the power transformer, rectifier, smoothing and stabilising circuits are entirely independent for the left and right channels. The chassis measures 440 × 148 × 479mm and weighs 29kg, and is offered in black or silver finishes. Each channel is powered by its own high-capacity 1kVA-class toroidal transformer.
Sound & performance
The M1000 delivers 250 watts into 8 ohms and 500 watts into 4 ohms with both channels driven, holding total harmonic distortion below 0.05 per cent. Its BTL (bridged, transformer-less) topology connects two output stages per channel in a balanced configuration, giving the amplifier the current delivery and grip to remain composed into low and variable impedances. Frequency response extends from 5Hz to 50kHz.
Key features
The amplifier accepts both balanced XLR (1.5V / 220k ohm) and unbalanced RCA (0.75V / 47k ohm) inputs. Its Class D output stage uses power MOSFET devices chosen for low losses and fast response, and the balanced BTL architecture is carried consistently across both channels. Signal-to-noise ratio is quoted at 112dB or better.
Technology
TAD’s approach rests on completely balanced symmetry: by mirroring the circuit for each channel and each half of the balanced signal, the design cancels noise and even-order distortion while maintaining structural balance. The BTL Class D output stage combines high efficiency with the low output impedance needed to control a loudspeaker, and the independent per-channel power supplies keep the two channels from interfering with one another.

Who it’s for
The M1000 suits the two-channel listener who wants genuine high-end power and control in a relatively compact chassis, and who values TAD’s engineering-led approach to symmetry and low distortion. It pairs naturally with revealing, full-range loudspeakers and a matching TAD preamplifier.
Why buy from Hidden Home Technology
