Wireless bass for BluOS
The Bluesound Pulse Sub+ is a 150W wireless powered subwoofer. It’s built to fit the BluOS ecosystem. No subwoofer cable to run. No separate AV processor required. Pair it in the BluOS app to a Powernode, Node, Pulse Cinema, Pulse Cinema Mini or Pulse 2i. It joins that zone as the low-end. Pair to a Pulse Cinema or Pulse Cinema Mini and it forms the .1 in a 2.1 or 4.1.2 Atmos system.
The driver and amplifier
An 8-inch polypropylene-cone woofer with a rubber surround. A 150W (200W dynamic) Class-D Smart DSP amplifier drives it. Frequency response runs 22 Hz to 150 Hz on-axis. The built-in DSP handles room-aware bass correction. It also handles integration with the paired Bluesound device. You don’t have to manually crossover-match the sub.
Why wireless matters
Most subwoofers force a cable run. The run goes from the AV rack or amplifier to wherever the sub sits. It’s usually awkward. Sometimes it’s structurally invasive. The Pulse Sub+ removes that cable entirely. It needs mains power. Everything else runs over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. For a finished living room where you’d rather not lift the floor to chase a sub cable, this is the answer.
What it pairs with
- Pulse Cinema and Pulse Cinema Mini — adds .1 to the soundbar for 2.1 or full Dolby Atmos surround systems
- Bluesound Powernode — adds proper bass to the listening-room streaming amp
- Bluesound Node and Node Icon — adds a wireless sub-out without using the wired RCA
- Pulse 2i, Pulse Mini 2i, Pulse Flex 2i — adds low-end to any single Pulse zone
Generation 2i (or newer) Bluesound hardware is required on the pairing side.
Why we recommend it
The Pulse Sub+ is the easiest way to add deep bass to a Bluesound install without re-running cables. We specify it most often as the .1 on the Pulse Cinema or Pulse Cinema Mini. That turns a soundbar setup into a proper 2.1 or surround system. We also use it as the low-end behind a Powernode-driven main pair where the speakers themselves run out of headroom below 50 Hz. We covered the wider Bluesound case in our Bluesound vs Sonos custom installer view.
